A paradise for those who love long walks on the beach, just 5 km from Follonica.\u00a0The Sterpaia Coastal Park is part of the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.parchivaldicornia.it\/index.php?lang=eng\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Val di Cornia Parks<\/a><\/strong>. The system includes also Rimigliano Park,\u00a0the Archaeological Park of Baratti and Populonia, the Archaeological Mines Park of San Silvestro, the Natural\u00a0Park of Montioni and the Forestry Park of Poggio Neri.<\/p>\n<h3>The long beach of\u00a0Sterpaia<\/h3>\n<p>The Sterpaia Coastal Park is also known for its <strong>crystal- clear sea waters<\/strong> and <strong>sandy bottoms<\/strong>, and for its long\u00a0wide beach of fine golden sand, hidden in the nearby pinewoods accessible by trails through a vast forest of\u00a0age-old trees oaks, tamarisks, cork oaks and ashes. The Sterpaia Coastal Park has a long free beach provided\u00a0with all the facilities required to have a pleasant holiday: snack areas, wooden tables and several services for\u00a0disabled people. An ideal place where to find a little <strong>peace<\/strong> between the <strong>green<\/strong> of the pine forest and the\u00a0dunes.<\/p>\n<h3>The Carbonifera<\/h3>\n<p>The name of <strong>Carbonifera Beach<\/strong> comes from the presence of an ancient commercial point, a tower from the\u00a0<strong>19th century<\/strong>, when coal was here carried by railway from the mines to sea.
