In the main square of Vetulonia<\/strong>, by Castiglione della Pescaia<\/a><\/strong>, the main archaeological site of the Maremma<\/strong>,\u00a0is situated the Archaeological Museum “Isidoro Falchi”<\/strong>, where is a large collection of finds covering nine\u00a0centuries of history and splendor of the city, from its foundation in the 9th century BC<\/strong> until his death, at the\u00a0end of the Roman era, around the 5th century AD<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Among the finds<\/strong> of the necropolis<\/strong>, including a huge amount of tiaras, jewelry and votive objects, stands out\u00a0the famous stone stele of the warrior<\/strong> Auvele Feluske<\/em>, dated back to the 8th or 7th century BC and considered\u00a0the most important find of the Archaeological Museum “Isidoro Falchi”.<\/p>\n Vetulonia reached its highest splendor in the 7th century A.C.<\/strong> and the Museum testifies to the glorious period\u00a0of great art collection, particularly gold – bronze helmets and necklaces. Remarkable is also the “Stone\u00a0<\/strong>of Dupiane”<\/strong>, the Hellenistik Alphabet engraved on the stone found in the necropolis of Dupiane.<\/p>\n Among the enormity of the exhibits in the Archaeological Museum “Isidoro Falchi”, that give us a lot of information\u00a0about the Etruscans and the origins of the Maremma, there are also coins<\/strong>, pottery<\/strong>, jewelry<\/strong>, statues\u00a0<\/strong>and reconstructions of tombs<\/strong> with original grave goods.
