The castle, which dates back\u00a0to the 12th century, was originally a church attached to the <strong>Saint Antimo Abbey<\/strong>. After a period of neglect, in\u00a0the 16th century the castle was fortified and today still preserve its imposing appearance.<\/p>\n<h3>Le Rocchette cliffs<\/h3>\n<p>Le Rocchette Beach offers a<strong> variety<\/strong> of landscapes that will amaze you beyond all expectations. The north\u00a0part of this corner of Maremma is <strong>rocky<\/strong>, with many hidden <strong>coves<\/strong> that can be reached only by sea. This area\u00a0is suitable for diving or snorkeling lovers who will find in rocky sea bottoms at the foot of the castle, inhabited\u00a0caves of beautiful fishes, shellfishes and marine vegetation.<\/p>\n<h3>Le Rocchette: wide, accessible beach with a breathtaking sea view<\/h3>\n<p>From the first rocky stretch <strong>Le Rocchette<\/strong> runs on the southern side of the promontory of <strong>Punta Capezz\u00f2lo\u00a0<\/strong>(near Castiglione della Pescaia). A beautiful, wide beach with golden sand surrounded by a dense pine forest\u00a0with free beaches and exclusive and well equipped private beaches. <strong>Crystal clear water<\/strong> overwhelms sandstone\u00a0rocks. The sea bottom is sandy surrounded by small rocks with an amazing variety of fish species and\u00a0<strong>marine vegetation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>How to get to Le Rocchette beach<\/h3>\n<p>Le Rocchette is accessible from the SP158 Collacchie, which leads to Grosseto Follonica. It is located about\u00a010 km north of Marina di Grosseto and 22 Km south of Follonica.
