The promontory that looks to the <a href=\"\/en\/tuscan-islands\/giglio-island\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Giglio Island<\/a>\u00a0and <a href=\"\/en\/tuscan-islands\/giannutri\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Giannutri<\/a> was born trough the joint action of ocean currents and the Albegna river, with the creation\u00a0of <strong>two tomboli<\/strong> which connected the island to the mainland, forming today one of the most important beaches\u00a0of Maremma.<\/p>\n<h3>The place of the promontory<\/h3>\n<p>Rich in archaeological finds the <strong>Monte Argentario<\/strong> is <strong>ideal<\/strong> for nature lovers, thanks to its breathtaking views\u00a0and a unique <strong>landscape<\/strong>. Wild animals, raptors, flamingos and other birds as well as being an important part\u00a0of the migratory route inhabit the lagoon. Monte Argentario is close to <strong>Orbetello<\/strong>, small and beautiful city\u00a0whose lagoon bathes the eastern side of the promontory. Every year more and more travelers decide to explore\u00a0<strong>Porto Ercole<\/strong> and <strong>Porto Santo Stefano<\/strong>, two lovely, small villages in the area, once the exclusive domain\u00a0of the Italian <strong>\u00e9lite<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>La Feniglia<\/h3>\n<p>La <strong>Feniglia<\/strong> is a 6 km long, impressive, sandy beach of dunes that connect Monte Argentario to Ansedonia,\u00a0in the southern part of the peninsula of Monte Argentario and one of the most famous beaches in the area.<br \/>\nWith its magnetic, almost lunar landscape and its crystal clear sea this beach has two access points, at their\u00a0respective ends, where are also some restaurants.<br \/>\nThe rest is pure nature. White sand dunes and soft white trunks that create suggestive sceneries. The presence\u00a0of Mediterranean pinewoods is a plus.<\/p>\n<h3>La Giannella<\/h3>\n<p>Giannella is a long sandy beach connecting the <strong>north of the peninsula<\/strong> to the mainland near <strong>Albinia<\/strong>, at the\u00a0foot of <strong>Monte Argentario<\/strong>. Surrounded by a dense vegetation <strong>Giannella<\/strong> beach is less wild than <strong>Feniglia<\/strong>.<br \/>\nLined with bathing establishments it is ideal for families. There are many campsites and visible <strong>accesses<\/strong> to\u00a0the sea.<\/p>\n<h3>How to get to Monte Argentario<\/h3>\n<p>From the SS1 Aurelia:<br \/>\n&#8211; For those coming from the north, at Bocca dell\u2019Albegna, exit at Giannella and follow the signs to\u00a0Argentario and Porto Santo Stefano.<br \/>\n&#8211; On the Aurelia, exit at Orbetello Scalo and follow the signs to Orbetello; pass it and continue to Feniglia\u00a0and Porto Ercole.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Between Land and Sea Monte Argentario is one of the most famous spots in the Maremma.
