Seit der Altsteinzeit\u00a0bewohnt, Pianosa bewahrt noch heute die \u00dcberreste einer <strong>r\u00f6mischen Villa<\/strong> und ein <strong>System von Katakomben<\/strong>.<br \/>\nSeit Beginn seiner Geschichte sind in Pianosa Weinberge und Olivenb\u00e4ume angebaut worden, so dass heute\u00a0von der <strong>Mediterranen Macchia<\/strong> nur Lentiscus geblieben ist, w\u00e4hrend es zahlreiche Kr\u00e4uterpflanzen gibt, die\u00a0die Landschaft mit ihren Bl\u00fcten f\u00e4rben.<\/p>\n<h3>Die Meeresboden von Pianosa<\/h3>\n<p>Seit der Antike war Pianosa Kreuzung der Handelswege, wie noch heute die <strong>arch\u00e4ologischen Funden<\/strong> aus\u00a0verschiedenen L\u00e4ndern und Epochen in dem Meeresboden bezeugen. Ihr Wasser, besonders reich an\u00a0Pflanzen und Tierarten, ist heute ein <strong>Naturschutzgebiet<\/strong> mit seiner bunten Welt.<\/p>\n<h3>Die Urspr\u00fcngen des Gef\u00e4ngnis<\/h3>\n<p>Im Jahr <strong>1856<\/strong> gr\u00fcndete das Gro\u00dfherzogtum Toskana die landwirtschaftliche <strong>Strafkolonie<\/strong> auf der Insel\u00a0Pianosa. W\u00e4hrend des Faschismus wurde sie f\u00fcr die Inhaftierung von politischen H\u00e4ftlingen ber\u00fcchtigt (Auf\u00a0Pianosa war auch der sp\u00e4tere Pr\u00e4sident der Republik Italien Sandro Pertini inhaftiert). In den 70er wurde auf\u00a0der Insel ein Hochsicherheitsgef\u00e4ngnis eingerichtet, in erster Linie f\u00fcr gef\u00e4hrliche Mafiaverbrecher oder\u00a0Mitglieder terroristischer Vereinigungen.
